Q.

headaches

Hi Doctor,

My son Calvin which is 5 turning 6 in January has always since i can remember had a terrible eating disorder, whereas he hardly eats so he has been on vitamins since baby. However, his teacher at creche called me in last week and complained about his eating becoming worse and that he constantly complains of headaches which is not normal for such a small child. I am getting worried now. SHould I take him for tests or what do you suggest I do. He is currently on Vi-daylin vitamin. Thanks Rita.

It is very important to establish a healthy eating habit in a child and giving vitamins does not make up for a healthy well balanced diet. However, the main concern is the constant headache and I think this definitely warrants evaluation. Just mention the exact vitamin intake to the doctor as well, because too much vitamin A can cause similar symptoms.
