Head tilting - 7 year old

My daughter cant keep her head straight, it''s forever tilted to the side. When having her hair cut I need to stand and keep her head in place so it''s not cut skew. Is this something to be concerned about or just a bad habit? I tell her to straighten up and a few seconds later she tilts again.

You do not mention if your daughter has tilted her head since birth or if this has only recently started.Head tilting is known by the medical term as 'torticollis' There may be several reasons why children tilt their heads like this. If she has only recently started then it may just be a habit. If it of long duration then it may be due to a shortening of certain of her neck muscles on the affected side. Head tilting can sometimes be due to a child having a problem with her sight. It would best to take her to see a physiotherapist first and to get an opinion as to what she thinks is the cause and what treatment is recommended.
