Took my 2 yr old daughter to the ENT on Monday for a check up as she has had a cold for 3 weeks, been on 2 Anti-bio's, the ENT sent her for xrays and said that she must have grommets put in as there is fluid in both her ears. She is due to go in on Friday morning. Wanting to know:

Do we need another opinion,
Any mothers out there with experience in Grommets>

Urgent - any feedback will be appreciated.

Grommets are very successful and will certainly help your daughter's ears to drain the fluid.

My LO had her grommets fitted when she was 13mths also due to permanent ear infections and colds, the problem was sorted almost immediately after the grommets were fitted, the opp takes about 15min! My LO had no side affects and she was a bit grumpy after the opperation but we went home about an hour after she woke up!! After the grommets were fitted and she got an ear infection the "stuff" will just flow out of her ears and this means no flued in the ears and thus no infection!!

My experience with the grommets were great and she still has no problems with ear infections and her fell out about 6mths ago!!

Hope this helps
