Getting my little boy to sleep through the night

I have a 17 month old son who from birth never slept through the night. He sleeps between 7:30 and 8:00 every night, wakes for the first time at aroung 11:30 then bout 1 then about 3 and then wakes for the day at bout 6:30.
His night routine is supper between 5:30 and 6:00, then bath at 7:00 and straight to bed.
He has a decent meal for supper, he has his naps during the day, very active during the day.
How do I get him to sleep for longer periods?

How do I get him to sleep through or for longer stretches.

Your son seems to be healthy in all respects but is in the habit of waking at at least 3 times at night [for a feed?]
This is purely a habit as he is obviously not hungry. This is very tiring for you. The only way to stop the situation is to try the controlled crying method which will be rather hard on the nerves, but he should respond well.
