It appears that my baby now has gastro which was the reason for her fever last week. She started with a runny tummy on friday morning and still has it. My paed said that there is no medication for this and she just has to go through it... I just want to know how do I keep her hydrated if she refuses to drink? I have eventually been forced to use a syringe to get liquids in her body....

Hay fever does not cause or is not associated with dairrhoea. This is a separate illness. Use Rehidrat soulution as extra sips to keep your baby hydrated and to supply her with the electrolytes ahe is losing with the diarrhoea.

I think the doctor should have atleast given you something to stop the diarrhia and the rehydrant solution. what I heard is that they cannot give you anti-biotics for gastro because it can make it worse.

my son was hospitalized for 4 days with gastro in April because he was dehydrated, use the syringe to give her the rehydrant solution at least. my son also did not like it, we used the syringe.
