Fussy Drinker

Hi Doc.

I' m breastfeeding my 8 mnth old son. He' s extremely inquisitive, so the only way he will drink is for me to lie on the bed in a quiet room (bit frustrating when out and about). He will take rooibos tea (with bit of cows milk) out of a bottle and he takes water out of bottle with spout. I' ve tried NAN and S26 but he refuses. Is there anything else you can recommend I can give him out of a bottle besides tea? I know he is only supposed to get cows milk from 1 year, but the little bit I use in the tea and also on his cereal hasn' t caused any allergies etc. Would make my life a bit easier if he did drink something else when it' s not possible to breastfeed him in a quiet place. He actually fights me when I try and feed him if we are anywhere else. Any suggestions?

You need to try to find a formula which he will like. At his age the possibilities are Lactogen 2 or NAN Pelargon. He is not ready for cow's milk yet and will not be ready until he at least 12 months old.
