Dear Doc

My baby is 16 weeks. I have just returned to work for 4 hours a day. I therefore miss 1 feed while I am at work.

For this 1 feed, I have arranged for my baby to be given NAN HA. We give her the NAN HA as she was diagnosed with excema at 8 weeks, and the clinic sister advised that we use the " HA"  when introducing formula. I breasfeed her for all the other feeds.

My baby seems to dislike the formula. She only drinks about 60 - 70 ml of the formula. Today her day mother offered her expressed breatmilk, after she had refused to drink any more formula. She then drank 60 ml of the breastmilk.

Shall I presist with the NAN HA for that 1 feed, in the hope that she will eventually drink more of it during her 11am feed? Or do you think that I should change to another formula brand? We have been trying to feed her NAN HA for a week now. I suspect that it will take some time for her to get used to the formula?

Many thanks!

Your baby may not like the taste of the NAN HA. It was a good idea to try her on this formula because of her eczema, but she won't drink it.It would be best to give her expressed breast milk instead of the NAN HA if you are able to manage this.
