Foot Fungus

Hi Professor,

My 5 year old son has deep cracks under his toes which are now bleeding. Where his toe naturally forms a crack is where the sores are. He suffers from excema under his arms, which I treat with Mylocort. Yesterday I put Betadine under his toes, with a plaster but this seemed to have made the skin soggy. So I decided to dry out the skin and put Mecurochrome on and let him wear a sock to keep out the dirt. Is there anything else I can do to treat the sores?

Thank you.

This can be avery difficult problem to treat. It is known a juvenile plantar dermatosis and is more common in children with eczema.Look it up on Google where you will get some good advice. If using Vaseline only does not seem to help, your son should see a dermatologist.

May daughter had exactly the same problem. I''ve tried various ointments, but the only thing that eventually worked was Repair SBR cream.
