Q.

food allergies?

HI doc whats the best way for me to find out if my 5 yr old is allergic to anything. She has a strong allergy to egg yolk, this i do know. She also sometimes throws up violently seconds after eating Golden Delicious apples. My sis said it might be the sulphur content? I want to find out if she is allergic to anything else, how do i go about it. Her digestive process is quite sluggish and she is often very bloated and gassy with a lot of stomach distention.

How do i find out what might be causing this?

thanks

J

Your paediatrician or GP can arrange for allergy tests to be done on a small sample of blood. The tests are known as RAST tests. You can tell your doctor which tests you wish to be done such as egg, apple, milk, wheat, gluten and peanut for example.
