Five Month Old Baby

Hi Doc
I have a few questions about my five month old:
1. Do I need to give my baby water if he is formula fed?
2. Should I give my son some Rooibos tea?
3. When should I start feeding him solids and what is ideal to start with? My son still cramps a bit.
4. What vitamin can I give him if any? I see Eye Q with the omega' s, Vdaylin, biostrath and other baby vitamins in the store? I am also going to be raising him as a vegetarian
5. My son has a bit of a blocked nose and has started coughing a bit. I use saline drops. He does not have a fever. Do I take him to the Pead or the Physio. Does the Physio do suction on a baby over 5 months? He was in hospital with Pneumonia when he was four months.

I thank you in advance for your assistance. Job well Done!!!

You do not need to give your baby water or rooibos. He can start on solids now.Start with rice cereal. You do not need to give him any additional vitamins or Eye Q etc.His formulas contains all the necessary vitamins. Use saline nose drops twice daily for his blocked nose. He has a cold and does not need to see a paediatrician or a physio. Give him probiotics such as Reuteri drops 1ml daily for 1 month to boost his immunity as he recently had pneumonia.
