Q.

Few questions re newborn

Dr my baby is 1 and a half week old. I've got a few questions:
1. He is on NAN HA....He is feeding very well, 40-60ml every 3 hours, but he became very constipated the last 2 days....He has terrible pain during stools and the substance is VERY hard. Is this to be expected? He only has 1-2 stools/day. What can I do to relief his discomfort.
2. It looks as if he has 'blisters' on his lips...Is this normal?
3. Is it ok if he feeds so often? Sometimes he only goes 2 hours before feeding again...Is the formula not giving him enough nutrition, because he becomes so hungry, so often?

Thanx

Feeding every 3 hours is normal. The 'blistered' appearance on his lips is probably normal but if your baby has actual blisters then you should your paediatrician to see him. The NAN HA is probably responsible for his constipation. Why is he on the HA form of NAN? If he is not allergic he should be on the regular NAN1.
