Q.

fever, should i worry or is it teething

u probably had this question already but here goes. my almost 1 year old has had a temperature that comes & goes since Monday night & goes red in face & neck, but not the rest of her body, her hands & sometimes feet stay cold, through leggings/socks etc. her appetite is not all there & she has a slight mouth smell. she yells out every hour or so at night & keeps her fingers in her mouth, she just wants me to hold her & my heart just absolutely breaks when i have 2 drop her by mom in the morning, she doesn't want to let me go. she has 1 tooth already but the symptoms wasn't as bad as this, i got a feeling its her top 2 & maybe even back, the gums are thick there too. i've started giving her stopayne & use bonjala. i long can i use stopyne & should i take her to the doctor or is it just teething? from a very sad mom.

This is not due to teething. I am not happy about the redness of her face. There are sveral illnesses that can cause this such as Scarlet fever, Kawasaki disease and Parvovirus B19 infection-so please have her seen by her paediatrician.

Hi

I really think you should take her to the doctor, as babies don't normally get a temperature when teething. It sounds as if she could have infection of the tonsils or ears. Good luck.
