Fever (regularly)

My 9 month old baby has a high fever every so often. Easch time I take him to the doctor he is diagnosed with a sore throat (perhaps from the crying?) Then put on antibiotics... Now he is teething andagain he has had a fever on and off for 2 days. If I take him to the doctor he would probably put him on antibiotics again. Can this be as a result of the teething? Why is he having such a lot of fever? Is it bad for his little body to have to keep on fighting like this?

Your son's frequent episodes of fever are not due to teething. He must have an infection somewhere. It is also unlikley that such a young baby has repeated tonsil infections. The two main possibilities are a urinary system infection or less likley an ear infection. Your son must have his urine tested for a possible infection. This must be done ASAP.There are other possible causes of recurrent fevers in infants so it would be best to see a paediatrician.
