Fever blisters affect many children and adults and the herpes virus that causes them once it enters the cells is carried for life. When the child gets too much sun or a bad cold then the blisters appear. Ask your pharmacy for an effective anti-viral lip cream such as Acitop which is not very expensive. The cream has to be applied as often as 6 times a day at the very first sign of the blisters appearing.
