Q.

Fear of physical activities

My grandson aged nine years is a very healthy, highly intelligent and well behaved boy. He plays golf, cricket and tennis but is terrified to even try to ride a byke, go-carting or skate boarding.
Can you give any advise to pass on to my daughter on how to handle this problem which is upsetting her greatly.

Paediatrician

There are no easy answers and forcing him will not help. It may help to get him the necessary protective gear, especially a cycling helmet which is essential for any child who cycles anyhow. Apart from that I would just be glad that he is normal and doing so well in everything else.
