Q.

Fans, airconditioners and babies im concerned.

This time of the year is very hot, can I keep a fan or air conditioner on when my baby is sleeping or lying awake. She is only five months old. Im just concerned, I don't want her to get sick.

This should not be a problem, but be carefull that your baby does not lie directly in the draft or gets too cold. They loose temperature a lot faster than older children or adults.

Babies, like adults get sick when they're in an environment with no fresh air so that they are surrounded by germs. A fan and an open window should be perfect (just don't point the fan directly on her as she will get too cold). Personally I wouldn't use an air conditioner for long periods due to sickness and it getting too cold. My baby is 9 months old, and we blow a fan in his room during the day and until about 10pm.
