Q.

FAMILY FOOD FOR 7 MONTH OLD

Dear Doctor

My 7 month old started eating solids at 3.5 months due to large birth weight.

She is now showing signs of preferring to eat the family food and refuses Purity products. What foods are preferable for her to be eating at this age/stage.
Are starches OK - potatoes/rice etc

I'm not sure how to go about feeding her with family food and what sort of quantities would be suitable etc.
Also, what should she be allowed to drink now - are normal fruit juices OK ?

She can only eat soft foods at this stage or foods which you have mashed up well or made fine. Rice and potatoes are good. She only needs small amounts of solids twice a day. She should not have full strength fruit juices, but you can give her dilute fruit juice such as apple juice once a day.
