My daughter has faecal loading (8 years old) - She is taking Pegicol (1 sachet a day) What foods must she avoid to assist her condition ? She soils herself at times without knowing ? will this eventually stop ? I am desperate to get her over this condition. I need to know where I can help in anyway ?

Your daughter is now in an age group where she should not have this problem of faecal loading. Please have her checked by her paediatrician who should confirm that she indeed has this problem of persistent faecal loading. She is on a very effective medicine for ordinary constipation, but she may need to have her bowel cleared out effectively by using a Fleet enema. Her diet must include lots of fluid and fibre and avoid constipating foods such as cheese. At times this problem has a strong psychological cause.
