Q.

Extremely busy 10 month old girl

My 10 month old girl is EXTREMELY busy. She wants to be intertained at all times, refuse to eat solids and hardly ever sleep.

She started to sleep through at 4 weeks old and all of a sudden at approx. 7 months old decided that she doesn't need to sleep any more.

This is frustrating to me as my first two daughters never had any problems like this.

This kind of behaviour is very common in very bright infants. They need to be constantly entertained as you mention, which is very tiring.Make sure that you older children help a bit and your husband needs to do his bit. She will probably enjoy being read to at this stage. She will continue to prefer smoothand soft foods for quite a while yet.

Sympathy, my daughter is also 10 months old and it seems as if she just can't sit stil. You can't keep her in your arms as she would sometimes just like in jump off. Mine is worse when she is teething and only sleeps about 15 minutes 3 x a day. Luckily she usually goes to sleep about 19:00 but when those teeth are coming she doesn't want nothing to do with sleep. Advice - I put my girl in a pram and push her to sleep, we have tiles in the kitchen and it works like a dream. That ritmic sounds puts her lights out.
