Q.

Enlarged tonsils

My 13mth old baby has allergies (which are being treated with Ketotifen) and enlarged tonsils due to these allergies. She had her adenoids removed and grommets put in in January this year. She is very restless at night and thrashes around in her cot. She sleeps with her bum in the air and always has her head tilted backwards when sleeping, it almost seems as though she is battling to breathe. Could the tonsils be causing her restless sleep and could they also maybe be causing her stomach ache.

I am very unhappy about this story. You must take her to an ENT surgeon ASAP and tell him the same story you have written here. She may have enlarged tonsils which are interfering with her breathing, but I think that her adenoids were not adequately removed.
