Eczema or a Viral Infection

Good day Doctor

My 12 year old daughter gets a rash on her face - particularly around her eyes, upper lip (which gets swollen as well) and the back of her neck. The area affected normally gets darker and feels ' hard'  or dry too, not soft and pliable like normal skin.

I got Quadriderm from the pharmacy and some tablets that she had to drink three times a day for three days - he said that it was a viral infection.
As soon as she stops the Quadriderm (the cream is now finished again), the symptoms start all over again. I' ve bought Quadriderm twice thus far.

Is this a viral infection or is it eczema?

I' m not able to get to a dermatologist - how do you recommend I treat her at home?

Thank you!

Warm regards

Please, please do not use Quadriderm on your daughter's face!Who gave this ointment to you? This is a powerful 'shotgun' style ointment containing a powerful cortisone,an antibiotic, an antifungal and an antiseptic agent. In any case it is specifically not allowed to be used near the eyes. You really need to know what is causing your daughter's rash, in other words you need a diagnosis. You have no choice but to have her seen by a dermatologist.
