Ectasy & Pregnancy

Hi. I have a friend you took ectasy while she was pregnant.
Her baby was born fine but she's been having seizures lately and grinding her teeth. He's been for a CT Scan and EEG but it came back clear. The doctor's don't know what's wrong with her, they say maybe it's Menangitis.
Do you think that the Ectasy could have affected the baby?

It is extremely irresponsible to use ANY drug ever, bur especially during pregnancy. Your friend needs to be honest with her doctor in this regard, because he cannot give the best treatment without all the necessary information. A CT-scan will not show any functional problems, e.g. withdrawal especailly if your friend used other drugs during pregnancy as well.

Drugs have a negative impact on the baby and there's no changing that fact - the extent of the damage is probably only becoming more visible now - the peadiatricians and specialists will have to investigate and give a proper diagnosis, but I'm just hoping your friend is in fact telling them that she was using drugs during her pregnancy, since that will help them determine the cause of the baby's problems quicker and more accurately. I just don't understand some people.

I know it's not a nice thing to do but I think she tried to get rid of it.

All I can say is that I cannot believe that someone can even think of using such substances while being pregnant! I am also a mother and I cannot even think of doing something that will I know for sure will hurt my baby. I am not someone that easily judge people but, shame on your friend for putting her baby at risk this way.
