It will be good to discuss the maintenance treatment with your doctor. Eczema requires constant treatment, firstly regular hydration (with e.g. Aqeous 3-4x/day) and then a mild steroid cream if the condition deteriorates.

Hi there,

My boy, 2 and a half years old know has had problems with his skin since he was born. I felt like a big fat failure. Went to the best doctors in Durban dealing with allergies. I was sick and tired of cortosone creams and antibiotics. At one stage his skin went as white as a piece of paper.

Recently I discovered a product by Eucerin, called Dry Skin Relief Therapy Lotion with 3% Urea. This has been excellent. Another thing to remember as I've read up on this issue. Beware of soap products or soap based products, as this actually dries out the skin more and make's it itch more.

The Eucerin is only available at pharmacies. I'll give you my number if you want to contact me for more info: 083-5515369 - Levine.

Hang in there...
