Q.

Eating

Hi Doc

Hope you can help.

My baby boy will be 7 months old soon.
We started solids at 5 months.
He still refuses to open his mouth for foodies so we have to distract him and then slip the food in quickly.
I have discussed this with his paediatrician who told us that he will eat willingly when he is ready.
At the moment, he drinks on average about 900ml of S26 Gold in a 24 hour period.
He has had acid reflux since 2 months old and is still on Losec.
I've noticed that when I give him fruit (Purity) he seems very niggly afterwards. Could the fruit aggravate the reflux?

Anyway, my question is this: Is there anything I can do to encourage him to eat solids? Should I just persevere and hope that he'll start showing more of an interest in eating or is there something I can give him to enhance his appetite?

There is absolutely no need to try and force him to eat solids. His milk is his main source of nutrition now and he is drinking a reasonable amount for his age. You have not given me his weight. He will start eating solids when he is ready. The Purity fruit you gave him seems to make him uncomfortable.
