Ear Infections

I wonder if you could shed some light on my situation.

My son has suffered from ear infections since he was about 5 months old. He is on his 3rd set of grommets. First set was at 7 months.

My GP and the ENT insisted on putting him on Inflanaze and Allecet Permanently which I did for months but he still got sick just as often. I am not happy with this constant drugging as the Allecet totally changes his personality. He does not sleep properly and it makes him anxious. I don''t think it''s healthy to keep pumping him full of drugs. Last year I made the decision to take him off everything and took him to a homeopath. He was well for months but now that winter is back he has started with the colds and ear infections again.

No body has done any testing to confirm whether he in fact does have allergies.

We have both been well for about 4 weeks and have both recently had a cold. I have since got better but my son''s has turned into an ear infecton. Once again the doc wants to put him back on all the allergy meds.

Surely if we both had a cold it is just a cold from a germ and not an allergy. Why is mine a cold but my son''s is allergies. Please advise...

I actually agree with you that your son's illness soumds more like repeated respiratory infections rather than an allergy. Is he at a creche? His symptoms suggest that he has the 'creche syndrome' with repeated respiratory infections during the winter months. Put him on a probiotic such as Probiflora for children for 10 days a month and give him Creche Guard daily to boost his immunity.

Yes, he is at creche.

Thank you for the advice.

I have him on viral choice for 3 months and then I switch to the Patrick Holford vitamin for kids as they say you shouldn''t stay on one multi vitamin for too long.

I will definitely try the probiflora.
