Q.

ear infection or not

When we took my daughter to the paediatrician we where told she has a inner ear infection and we where given natural spray and drops to use to try sort it out, and have to go back in two weeks time if its not clear we have to go on to antibiotics cortisone. Yesterday I see there is alot of yellow wax coming out the ear, is this normal from the spary and drops or do you think I should change the appointment earlier? She is pulling on her ear but not crying at all. I just dont want to leave it to long and then she has problems hearing.
Thank you

Paediatrician

It sounds like the doctor thought that their might be fluid trapped behind the eardrum. There is no need to change the appointment, unless your child becomes feverish or ill. Yellow wax is normal and it may have been loosened by the eardrops you are using.
