Dry skin under eyes

Hi my daughter, now 7, has recently (approx. 7 months) developed dry skin under her eyes, it starts from the corners of her eyes directly below the eyes. Some days it looks lighter and other days it''s red, sometimes the skin flakes. She has been on antihistamines but to no avail. I am using rooibos cream at the moment. Please advise.

This sounds like an infection of the eyelids called 'Blepharitis'. This can sometimes be rather difficult to treat.Apply pads that have been soaked in warm but not hot water to both her eyelids and leave on for about 10 minutes. Then gently clean her eyelids with an earbud that has been dipped into a small container of warm water with a few drops of baby shampoo added to the water.Wipe her eyelids with this solution twice daily.Read more about blepharitis on Google. If her eyes do not clear up after 10 days she should be seen by an eye specialist.
