Q.

Diorhea

My son is 22 months old. He has never been a very good eater. He only likes to eat yoghurt, or biscuits and drink milk. He will eat meat once in a while and vegies as well.

He has always got a very runny tummy. Never is it the way it should be. His stools are always very runny and almost like water.

Does this mean that he could have something wrong with his stomach or intestinces. The fact that he doestnt want to eat, what could that be, we had his tonsils removed, so it isnt that.

My son just never wants to eat. He would rather drink 10 bottles of liquid that eat. Surely that can not be good for him, surely he must get hungry at some point.

Please help me, what can i do to get him to eat.

The most important thing is to check his growth. If he is a normal active boy and growing well, then he is getting enough. The challenge would be to only offer healthy food without any alternatives. However, if he is unwell or failing to thrive (grow) then it will require further investigation. Your paediatrician will be best placed to consider all the possiblities.
