Q.

Difference between Zirtec and Deselex

What is the difference between Zirtec and Deselex? My son has allergic sinusitis, and was on Zirtec when he was smaller, and he has now started on Deselex, what is the difference?
Also, allergy testing, like skin prick tests etc, is it worth it to do this? My son is almost 5.

Thanks

It is always worthwhile trying to find out what is causing your son's allergies. The allergy tests should have been done long before now. Deselex is a new non-sedating antihistamine which is very effective in treating nasal allergy. Zyrtec is also a non-sedating antihistamine which is widely used in children with allergies. Both medicines are safe to use in children.
