It is truly heartbreaking to hear that you have suffered such a tragic loss. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. If babies die when they develop diarrhoea it is usually due to loss of water and body salts such as potassium which is called dehydration and electrolyte depletion. Babies should definitely not die of this illness in this day and age. Your baby should have received the necessary fluids by drip if necessary to prevent such an unnecessary tragedy. Please let me know if I can assist you with any further advice.

Dear Anon
I' m so sorry for your loss. Your heart must be shattered. I lost my baby earlier this year and it feels like yesterday. i know that diarrea is very serious in little ones as they can dehydrate so quickly. Was your baby at home or in hospital?

I am very sorry, anon may you find comfort. Daerhia (sp) is very dangerous, my cousin lost her baby son also, he was dehydrated. When kids are teething sometimes they get very weak, they vomitte as well.
