Cradle cap is very common and should clear up by the time your baby is about 6 months old. Use a baby shampoo to wash your baby's scalp, Elizabeth Anne is a good choice.Apply a little olive oil to your baby's scalp after shampooing. After a few hours gently comb the scales off your baby's scalp. If this does not help you may need to use a mild cortisone cream such as Mylocort cream for a few days, but this is seldom necessary.

You can also pour some baby oil on your baby''s head, leave it for a few minutes to soak into the skin, and then take a soft towel and rub the skin on the head. Obviously rub softly, but the aim is to lift the loose skin. You will see immediate results, and you might need to do this a few more times. But it should eventually clear the skin.
