Q.

Coughing and not eating

My 17month old baby boy is feeling a bit off. He has a bit of a cough, no temperature and does not want to eat. He is normally a very healthy baby. Should I take him to the doctor or should I wait a bit?

Your baby appears to be starting with a cold at present. His chest may be affected as well. He does not appear to be ill and has no fever. It is important to keep your son's nose clear by using Salex or other saline nose drops twice daily.Once his nose is clear your son's appetite may improve. It does not appear necessary to take him to a doctor now. If his cough worsens and he continues to refuse to eat then he should see his doctor.
