Dr, my son 7yr old, has been diagnosed with a bad viral infection 1 week ago. He has recovered well but developed a bad cough. He keeps on coughing, especialy at night, so bad that he vomits siliva....He feels tired but is still playing and eating well. He has no fever. He is on chronic asthma meds and Zyrtec.I''ve even replaced the asthma pumps with Pulmicort neubulizing (.25mg x 2 daily) and combivent 3x daily...But he is still coughing, so much that he turns red in his face! How would I know this is just because of the virus and allergies and when is it bronchitis and time to take a trip back to the dr for antibiotics?
