Hi Dr, my three month old seems to have come down with a cold. He has a snotty nose and an awful wet cough. This will be the third time in four weeks that he has picked something up. He has two large swollen glands on the back of his head which have been there for about two weeks. He currently has no fever and is not fussing. I am using saline nose drops and Bennets Easy Breathe. Can I continue treating him at home or would it be best to see a Dr? How long should glands stay swollen for? Thank you for your advice.

It is very unusual for a baby of only 3 months to have had 3 nasal and chest infections so far. His glands may come from cradle cap if he does have or did have cradle cap.Is he at a creche as this would explain his frequent illnesses? If he is not at a creche your baby may have problem with reflux which is causing his symptoms. He should definitely be seen by a paediatrician.
