I took my 10 month old baby to the paediatrician on tuesday as he was very congested and I thought he may have an ear infection. Thankfully his ears were clear as well as his chest and he prescribed celestimine to clear up his nose. Now he has developed a cough and it sounds like quite a wet cough and he also battles to breathe when he is having a little coughing fit. His voice also has started sounding quite hoarse. Is it possible to develop a chest infection in a day (as he was checked yesterday). I am not sure if I need to take him back to the paed???
Thank you!

You certainly do need to do one thing and that is to stop giving your baby a powerful cortisone medicine like Celestamine for what seems to be a cold [which is a viral infection].Your baby seems to have condition called bronchiolitis. Use Saline nose drops to clear his nose. If he is no better by Friday take him back to the paediatrician.
