Constipation!!! HELP!

My 5month old baby is really having problems with constipation. She was on Nan from 3 weeks, and her stomach was fine, but was very irritable and got a rash on her face. Her ped suggested Isomil at 5weeks old. But since Isomil she is extremely constipated. I have used every possible thing, prune juice, brown sugar, olive oil. The only thing that seems to work is Duphalac, but I don' t want to use it on a daily basis. I switched her to Nan LF (which she doesn' t like much) a week ago and her stomach was working fine, and she was even sleeping better at night, but 3days ago she became constipated again. I don' t know what to do anymore?? Must I take her back to the ped?? (She is already eating solids, cereal in the morning, small purity at lunch and big purity at night, she also weighs about 9kg, she is a big baby)

Your baby would be do best on a low allergy formula such as NAN HA or Novalac HA.There is no reason to give her a lactose free formula.

My almost 6 month old, also gets a litlle constipated from formula, but she' s still on breast during the night so I think that helps a bit. But what I also do is I add about 10ml water to a 120ml bottle to up the water intake. I think that helps.

My boy is 7months now and we had the same problem as soon as we started him on formula, we also tried everything and did not want to give him Duphalac. But at the end this was the only thing keeping him regular, we gave him 1,5ml per day in the morning everyday. We also changed to Novalac anti constipation. He has been on solids for the past month and the constipation cleared up, no need for medicine.
Good luck!
