Constipation and fluids

Good Morning
My almost 8 month old (born 31Oct07) has had constipation since Sunday. I have tried prunes, brown sugar and paw paw and still very hard stolls.

Anouther thing is he is terrible getting him to drink anything during the day. He only has a few sips of his bottlein the morning and usually onlt drinks about 200ml of his formula the whole day. Ive tried rooibos, fruit juice, water... At night he wakes for his bottle and then he will drink 150ml to 200ml.

He is teething at the moment to.

Any advise please.
Thank you.

The teething has nothing to do with this problem unless you have given him a codeine cotaining medicine such as Stopayne syrup for pain. It is strange that he has suddenly developed constipation.Use an infant glycerine suppository to help him to pass the stool. If this does not help you can try Duphalac, but it may be best to first consult your paediatrician first.

He is not drinking enough fluids in a 24hr period. He still needs about 500-700mls in a day. Try lacson syrup.
