My daughter is 3 years old and suffers from constipation. She does drink alot of water and I am trying to get her to eat the foods that help avoid the constipation but easier said than done. Is there anything or medication that i can give her on a regular basis to keep her tummy working regularly.

Thank you!

Kind regards

It is vitally important to try to get your 3 year old on the correct diet with her constipation problem. She must drink plenty of water and will also benefit from drinking dilute fruit juice once a day. Make sure that she eats plenty of fruit [not bananas but good summer fruit].She must eat lots of roughage [fibre rich foods] such as Weetbix with plenty of vegetables. She should not drink too much milk, only 2 cups aday at the most and no yellow cheese. She will benefit from taking a good probiotic daily such as Probiflora for children.Let me know how she gets on and if there is no improvement then I will advise you about the next step in dealing with her constipation.
