Q.

CONSTIPATION

Dear Doc

My 14month old has been constipated for 2weeks now. I took him to his Pead and she suggeted more roughage and Isomil. He has been on Lactogen since 1month old and he loves his milk. Can he suddenly develop lactose intolerance?

For a week he was fine but now his stool is black. Shoul I be worried?

His stools should not be black. Is he taking an iron tonic? Lactogen is a very constipating milk. He is old enough to go off it and start on regular full cream cow's milk.

Yes, he is taking an iron tonic. Does it make the constipation worse? Should I continue with it?
