I have two daughters aged 14 and 8 and seem to have the same problem with both of them. Neither concentrate at school. My older daughter was evaluated by an educational psychologist and all we found out from that is she is auditory sensitive which nothing can be done about. We went the route of ritalin and concerta but neither had any positive effect on her. She just seems to do so badly at school, I am at my wits end. My youngest daughter''s teacher suggested that I have her evaluated because she day dreams in class (although she is not disruptive to the other children) when I mentioned this to my husband he blew his top. He seems to think that she is just lazy. I am very worried about their education and their performance at school. I have now gone out and purchased Bio Strath in the hope that it will help somewhat. I don''t know what else to do because just at the mere mention of seeing the educational psychologist causes major arguments in my household. Please could you give me some suggestions on what to do with my girls!

This is a difficult question. I am concerned about both your daughters. Your older daughter seems to have some symptoms which suggest that she may have an autism-type syndrome or possible Asperger's syndrome. She should be seen by a clinical psychologist or by a neurologist.Your younger daughter appears to have an ADD problem and should be seen by either a clinical psychologist or by a paediatric neurologist. Your husband needs to get involved in helping to deal with the considreable educational problems you are experiencing with your daughters.
