He seems to be constipated and he is very young to be constipated. Are you breast feeding him? This complaint is more common when babies are on some of the popular formulas these days.

Isomil is a formula milk like Nan. Might be that Nan is not working with your baby so try the Isomil. Buy a small tin and see if it works. Let us know if he gets any better. Try not to give him too much gripe water and other stuff because it contains alcohol which is not best for your baby.

Next question, is he on S26 gold? Some formula milks tend to cause a bit of constipation. Take a little bit of treacle sugar ( the sticky sugar ), like a tip of a teaspoon ( half a flat teaspoon ) and put it into his formula milk. It helps with constipation but it must be treacle sugar and not cane sugar. That is advice that I got from our clinic and a registered nurse. Maybe also try not to give him buscopan or gripe water. Try stick to the telament drops, they are the best and not harmful.

Sounds to me like he might be a bit constipated, check with the pharmacy but you should be able to give him some duphalac which should help and buscopan would help with the tummy cramps.

colic typically starts at 2 - 3 weeks and they cry for more than 3 hours every day. Doesn't sound like colic.

Just remember that all babies and toddlers have their "off days" as well.

Hello Stan
Its definitely not colic. You will know when your child's got colic. They cry non-stop. Maybe he had a bit of tummy ache. Is he on formula milk or being breast fed?
