Cold/Flu 4 Week old

Good day

My almost 3 year older daughter had a cold (just vry runny nose). I treated her with Damexin. It is now more than a week and her nose is still a bit runny. In the meanwhile my 4 week old baby picked it up as well. She has a very blocked and runny nose and a cough. I am worried about her. I am only treating her with some Puma on the chest and Saline drops in the nose. Is there anything else I can for her, she battles to sleep and to drink? Instead of she drinking every 2 hours, she is now drinking every hour.

Babies really struggle to feed when they have a blocked nose. You are treating your little baby correctly as you cannot use decongestant medicines for such a young baby. Use saline nose drops two to three times a day.It will also help to suck the mucous out of your baby's nose with a simple suction device especially before feeds. Ask your pharmacist for the correct infant nasal suction device.
