Q.

Cold

My son of 16 months has picked up a cold from us, it is now in its 3rd day and he seems alright except his runny nose has become green, he is a bit chesty and I give him Bisolven for that, and some Iliadin at night to keep his nose open, I also use Salex 3 times a day for his nose
Our doctor gave us antibiotics and said we should only use it if he does not seem to be improving.

Should I start him on the course, or should I wait? Is the green mucous alright at this stage of the flu,
YOur advice would be valued
Thank you

You seem to be treating him very well at this stage. The nasal discharge is typical of a bad cold. This is almost certainly a viral illness and as long as he is reasonably comfortable and not too distressed continue on the milder form of treatment.

Hi RGT
What i always do with my kids, is as soon as i see a runny nose i give them viral choice for colds and flu. It build there immune system and protect them against infections. It always works and they never get sick. It takes a few days for the viral choice to work.
