Q.

Clenching fists and going stiff

Hi there my little girl will be 9 months on the 6 July and for the last while she has been pulling her hands into fists and clenching her teeth and stiffening up and her face goes red. I have no idea what is going on and why she is doing it! Please help as it is worrying me now. She seems to do it quite often even in between mouthfuls when you are feeding her her purity. Must I take her to my paed. She is cutting teeth too!

Paediatrician

I am a bit concerned about these spasms as she may be having a form of epilepsy called infantile spasms. I must reassure you that it is probably not this but I cannot take the chance and say all is OK without your baby being checked by a paediatrician.

Hi

My little one is 4 months and he also dose it, but I kind of realised his throwing small tantrims, not because his naughty cause its a new thing he discovered to do and it grabs my attention. also he dose it more when his got a wind or some little irritable pain.
I know every baby is different, see what the cyber pead. says.
