when my son was 10 days old the doc did a circumcision the old fashion way. He did stiches and not the capping. He did such an untidy job and when we approached him he said that we should not worry when my son is 1 year it will fall into place. He is now 1 year 5 months and we have moved cities. We now live in Johannesburg. Is there any way that a doc can redo the circumcision. it looks like the bottom part of his penis the skin is hanging.

I am not sure from your description whether the skin that is hanging is normal or not, It would be best to ask a paediatric urologist to see your son and to decide if anything needs to be done.

Sorry to hear about the result of the circumcision. If there is some extra skin below, it could be related to the doctor trying to preserve the frenelem on the lower side of the penis. The question is how far over the glans (head) of the penis does the remaining foreskin hang? If it is only marginally longer than the rest of the remaining foreskin, you should not worry about it. If it is a lot longer where it hangs past the glans, then take him to a urologist that does circumcisions for him to trim a little off the bottom. Keep in mind when your son goes into puberty, his penis will ''grow'' out of any loose remaining foreskin unless there is a lot on the bottom. Definitely get him checked by a urologist.

Unfortunately this is what happens when doctors doing circumcisions are not doing a lot of them as in the US. You almost never have issues with circumcision results there. Good luck and let us know what the urologist says.
