These days it is regarded as unnecessary to circumcise infants unless there is a good medical reason for the operation. Speak to your paediatrician about this.

mom, the sooner the better. Why? Depending on age, its less traumatic and ultimately less painful and the healing time is much quicker. Health benefits are plentiful. Good medical reasons? How about better protection against HIV/AIDS because the foreskin is removed and there is no moist dark area for HIV and possibly other sexually transmitted diseases to enter the body. Also, something that is never mentioned, a tight foreskin inhibits the growth of the glans in many men, which means that it has less feeling and impact when having sex. This does not happen if circumcised as an infant or early age. I can go on, but if you are thinking of having it done, do it as young as possible. We had our son done as an infant. I was not and with all the knowledge out there about both the pros and cons of circumcision, I believe that it is is a small price to pay for lifelong benefits and pleasure later in life. Mine was done as an adult and my only regret is that it was not done much earlier in life. I have had sex both ways, and not only is it much better without a foreskin, its much cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing and more enjoyable for my wife as well. Besides there is no smegma or smell. Its well worth it, especially when you review all the pros and cons both medically and overall satisfaction. Circumcised men just dont have the issues to deal with like torn foreskins that can also become a severe problem for both the man and the woman and it never interferes with sexual satisfaction. Good luck!
