Q.

Circumcision

My boy (2 years and six months) had a circumcision done last Friday. I would like to know how i could promote the healing of the wound. At this stage i let him sit in luke warm water with salt for 10 min, and then i have to put on Bactroban ointment witch i heat in a bit of water and cool of a bit so that i don't have to put it on directly on the wound with my vinger, witch is very difficult. Am i doing the right thing and is there any other way to make this a bit easier on him? Yesterday there was a bit of bleeding where the stiches are, but not mutch, is this normal? Thank you for your reply.

Thie circumcision site should heal very rapidly. Keep it clean as you are doing but do not heat the Bactroban ointment as this will destroy its antiseptic effect.Apply it directly from the tube with a clean finger.
