Q.

Children and Malaria Prevention

My son was born 10 weeks premature. He is two and a half years old now and weighs +/- 12kg's. Can he take preventative malaria medication? What is the side effects? Would it be better to wait until he is older before visiting malaria areas?

He cannot take anti-malarials and it would certainly be best not to go to a malarial area until he is much older.
