Child sleeping

I posted about this before but to no avail.
My daugter is just over 2 1/2. Turning 3 in september.
She wakes me up between 4 - 8 times a night! I have tried everything from not allowing her to drink, to just giving her water. Given her Sister Lillian sleep remedy. etc.
She would wake and cry, and will only settle down again if I give her a bottle. She drinks out of a sippy cup and drinks cooldrink or water. She refuses to drink milk or anything warm, as people have advised me to try giving her milk or Horlicks before bed. I am so tired. Dont know what to do anymore.
Please give me some advice! What will make her wake less often? Once or twice is still acceptable...

It is very important not to give your daughter any cold drink or anything that tastes good or sweet when she wakes up.Although I am usually against recommending sedatives, you may need to try using Melatonin for your daughter as waking 8 times a night is a real problem. Melatonin is a natural hormone and so is not a drug.It comes in tablet form and you need to give your daughter one 3mg tablet half an hour before her bedtime. You can crush the tablet and put it in a small amount of apple sauce. This often helps to break this cycle of sleeplessness at this age.

Thank you for your response Lu...
Arggg! I really wish this will get better!! I am so tired today! She woke up last night basically every hour! I am only awake for like 10 mins every time, but after 3 years of not sleeping through the night (including pregnancy) I am just sick of this!! I cant even remember what it feels like to only wake up the next morning!!! Oh how I wish for that!!! :-)

All I can say is that I went through the same with my daughter, but since she turned 3 she slept right through the night almost every night except for waking once every 2nd or 3rd evening to go to the toilet. It gets better with time, but you definitely have to cut out all fluids during the night. If she really is thirsty offer her just a TINY sip of water. She will eventually stop asking for a drink. Don''t offer her something that tastes good ''cause then it will become a habit.
