Child eating disorder

Hi I have a son who is 6 years old. He had a healthy apetite and ate almost anything I put in front of him. When he was almost 2 years old he became very ill and found out he was allergic to antibiotics. Since then he refuses to eat anything else than sweets, joghurt and 2 min noodles. He is very skinny and seems to be getting more and more skinny by the day. In the past two weeks it became worse and he barely eats at all. I am really concerned - what should I do about this?

It does appear that your son has developed rather severe form of food phobia. His present diet is clearly not adequate or suitable for a growing boy.He will need to see a child psychologist ASAP about his eating problem. The expert on this problem of food phobias is Dr Gillian Harris. Look up on Google and see if you can find some of her helpful information about food phobias in children or information from other experts. Her 3 starting points are:
1]Do not get stressed out over meals;2] Do not try to hide or disguise foods in any way;3] Don't force new foods onto your child but wait until he is ready.
